first blog post!

Hello! I’m Carlos, and this is my online art gallery. I’m an artist based in North Miami Beach, Florida, and my artistic expression is eclectic. I like drawing on found pieces of paper—envelopes or vintage ephemera from hotels and companies. The paper often has logos or phone numbers; that extra history makes each piece unique. It’s like the paper traveled through time and space before landing in my hands, and then I add my mark to its journey.

I almost always have a sketchbook and draw whenever I’m bored. Honestly, I can’t stop. For a while, I thought it was just practice or a way to kill time, but it turns out it’s more of an obsession. I’ll draw in the dirt, on my plate with sauce and noodles—wherever possible. As much as I love my sketchbooks, I don’t like ripping pages out of them. Each book feels like a complete work, so I’d rather keep them intact to show visitors in my studio or home.

I’m saving up more prominent, more significant, or larger projects, but in the meantime, I have a bunch of smaller drawings on paper that need new homes. That’s why I started this art store. I’m posting unframed pieces, so they’re at a lower price point. I’ll keep adding more pieces over time, and I plan to use this blog to talk about my feelings on art and how I approach creating it. I also want to write out some ideas.
